What''s a property worth?

I notice today that Canarc Resources became the latest junior to acquire property holdings in western Chihuahua: https://www.stockhouse.ca/pfolio_v2.asp?page=displaynews&portid=11988&viewid=1&newsid=8563424&symbol=V.MAG&fromalert= I do not own any CCM and have no plans to buy any, but it is worth pointing out because they agreed to pay $2 million for what amounts to a grass roots exploration project. EXM owns property in the same immediate area, and they acquired 50,000 hectares through staking and probably spent less than $100K to grab it, with no underlying royalty. They then acquired a further 600 hectares nearby a past producing mine in the area for only $520K, and with no underlying royalties. https://www.exmin.com/press/NR_EXMIN_Batopilas-5Oct06.pdf Consider the difference in what EXM paid for their holdings, and what they are now worth in relation to what other companies are paying. Also, consider what these projects may represent if EXM does enough exploration successfully to advance them beyond the grass-roots level. Craig Gibson told me a funny story earlier this year. He said that he was in discussion with a property vendor that had a very interesting project to sell. The vendor wanted $1 million. Craig offerred him $10,000. I think that says it all. The property sweepstakes is only just getting started. As this cycle gains momentum, and as other players start to report new discoveries, the value of the suite of projects controlled by EXM will also increase rapidly. This is something to think about for a company trading at 50 cents that already owns an interest in a mine soon to be producing. I bought another 15,000 shares this week to take advantage of price weakness. EXM is a paid sponsor of my website. cheers! COACH247

Hi Mr M! I think the values of the moly are of little consequence because its just sampling data, but the widespread distribution of moly in that porphyry is of interest. CBI is a cheap little junior that does a poor job selling itself but I think this is one case where the properties will ultimately carry the stock despite some rather inept promotion. As for EXM, and buying right now, all ...more

Sort of works this way in spec mining....experience ..""credibility""..reputation ! The market says 50 cents a share UNTIL you use a little thing called A DIAMOND DRILL BIT!!! Yours truly Revelation

All due respect Rev, but you can use all the D Drill bits you want and still be a crappy 30c junior. It takes management, property, geology, and just a wee bit of luck to translate that Drill result into something tangible. Kent

Maybe I am missing something here, but I seem to remember a sketchy junior called Plexmar that went ballistic last year on just property holdings - no drilling, weak management, poor track record... Yet the stock was a firecracker just based on the 'closeology' of their property holdings. Now maybe PLE is not the greatest example because the share price subsequently imploded, and well it ...more
