The biggest threat to democracies is the theft of IP by China. Their military build-up is plan B, it is a lot easier over time to control the world by info tech.
My company had our tech stolen by a Chinese manufacturer, they were able to duplicate our product in months. They even copied our first generation design mistakes.

God help us if Trudeau allows Huawei any more access to the Canadian market.
