EXRO and MunroI do think its worth noting the following:
- A few months ago during a review of a Toyota BEV drivetrain, Sandy spoke to the potential for improvement and referenced a technology that may help. The reference did not include a Company name or a specific product. He stated that they may be talking to this company in the future. His tone implied skepticism.
- In the latest AMA, Sue described having to deal with industry wide skepticism, and noted that not many believed EXRO's technology could do what it claimed. "Magic" would have been used in a derogatory sense at those times.
- In the Cybertruck post launch video, I get the sense that Munro was a real non believer around the time of the Toyota review, but as Sue also mentioned, EXRO has had a number of discussions with EXRO's team which led to the November 28th Podcast announcement I say this because he used magic both as a negative and then a positive..... in that he clearly talked about the benefits that as far as we know are only available with EXRO's CD Technology.
- And as Sue also mentioned in the AMA, Munro and Exro have been in discussions for some time so you can rest assured that Munro did his due diligence before he made the reference at the Cybertruck event.
So, what does this mean? I am not sure there will be any material impact on SP, it certainly won't hurt. I do think it important from an industry credibility perspective. It should open up more opportunities regarless of market segment.
