That's the way I see it at this point rectangular- about a $1.35 buyout. This will not have a run up in price before an offer is made either. I have been saying for months that the stock price is being manipulated down. Now that tax loss selling is done, what is everyone going to blame this latest round of selling on?
Well, I am starting to think that a foreign body, perhaps the PRC, is very interested in acquiring FCU. I am quite familiar with the techniques they use on public comment boards to shape opinions. They have farms of "trolls" so to speak. However, it is much more insidius because not all commentators need to be 100% negative. As long as the general discussion moves to the desired result (low purchase price).
Another technique used is to make contrary or intelligent comments disappear by swamping a comment board with unrelated messages immediately after the undesired comment. If the troll farm can get the whole board talking about something else, it will certainly flood the undesired comment away. Pictures take up considerable real estate don't they? Many people read this website without even having user accounts. It doesn't matter if we put these foreign saboteurs on ignore. Many readers will have to sift through their posts.
Stockhouse could release IP addresses, but it probably won't help since they are likely using Proxy techiniques and are probably distributed geographically anyways.
So - although there may be the odd misguided anti-uranium environmentalist posting on this board, I think that we are under a large scale "public opinion shaping" comment attack. I don't think it is just one nutjob posting (uwatcher = deacon = pamps, etc..)
Perhaps CSIS should be informed because this kind of attack could impact Canadian tax revenue. Particularly if they are capable of making trades at loss without ramifications. Ie. it is okay to lose $50M trading if they save $500M on the purchase price. Canada prospers with a higher purchase price as well.
Do NOT accept less than $12-15 / lb for this company.
