Business 101

Business 101Why FIRE is where it is.

When I was a young man I worked for a oil companies parts supplier that sold their parts to their gas station owners (Imperial Oil/ Atlas tires-batteries and accessories). Now runnig a gas station back then pretty straight forward but as straight forward as it was some people failed in 3 months to 6 months and new folks took over the station. There was a gent there that had a handle on who was going to make it and who wasn't. His track record was nearly flawless. One day I asked him how he could pick out the losers before they became losers....THE TOW TRUCK!!!!!!!...The tow truck was the key. A small business starting out on small margins could not afford a new tow truck and have inventory as well.

Supreme has been growing slower than most people like but they have been using the old 1/2 ton way of thinking and it works....go slow build up the name...don't run to the bank for cash you'll have a problem paying back.

They have manged to bank a fair amount of cash and the purpose will be known when the company decides to make a move with that cash.

Further to business 101....10 men...10 women......if they all start a business...more of the women will make it than the men......why...the women think...men react....A woman is more apt to think expansion will require up front cash and not rely on forcasted revenue. a man will be apt to do the whole thing on forcasted sales as a result of the expansion...some times it works but it's more apt to blow up in your face as market conditions may work against you as the expansion starts.

Just remember....slow and easy wins the race more often than not.....right now it's a slow race....but we are winning.
