I paid over $700 in interest on a $16k investment. I'll be damned if I understand the intricacies of these debs. But the interest is no joke. That in itself is worth the gamble 


You do realize you'll get that interest you paid back.  If you paid $700 in interest the day you purchased it, if you sell the next day, the buyer of your debentures will pay you the $700 interest + the one day interest you earned.  It rolls forward until the interest disrbursement date.
