Opt - more USA - kind of a Summary to date
Legalisation is expected to expand at both the state and federal levels. Laws differ greatly from state to state.
As of May 2019, 23 states have legalised medical cannabis, 12 states have legalised low-THC/high-CBD hemp or cannabis derivatives, and 11 states and Washington DC, have passed laws legalising both recreational and medical cannabis.

I think we will see federal legalization in the USA within a couple years, the USA is all about $$$ and there is lots of $$ to be made in the cannabis sector

Much appreciated jf, it is looking like a given stateside for sure and that is the Mother of all markets. I was concerned what Trump would do as far as legalization but it is looking good from here on and is going to be huge for FIRE as we are in on the ground floor already. Haven't heard from our American friend, Dub, lately, he would have some insight to share on this as well? JMHO...Opt
