Some of these gaming properties seem to be transacting at eye-watering sums, but un-Enthusiast-ic can't seem to join the parade. News earlier today:
- Sony Pictures Entertainment (SONY -0.5%) has a deal to sell its GSN Games unit (part of Game Show Network) to mobile game maker Scopely for about $1 billion in cash and stock.
- Scopely is taking on GSN Games' portfolio of free-to-play mobile and online games, including Solitaire TriPeaks, Bingo Bash and Wheel of Fortune Slots.
- And GSN Games CEO Mark Feldman will move over to Scopely and continue overseeing the operation.
- GSN Games says Bingo Bash has been played by more than 70 million players with a cumulative total of 60,000 years in the game, and that more than 100 million hands are played per week in Solitaire TriPeaks.
- Scopely's most recent funding round valued the game developer at $3.3 billion.
