Yeah! Another special dividend - 2021 dividend yield of 7.8%

First national has turned out to be an exceptional investment.

At today's closing price of $46, the total annual dividend yield for 2021 is 7.8% ($3.60  / $46).

I invested in the company in the Spring and Fall of 2018, at an average price of $26.90.

For the past ten years, the share price has grown at an annual rate of ±19% ($8 ; 2012 - $46 ; 2021).  Plus investors receive a monthly dividend and an annual special dividend.  For 2021, First National will pay a dividend of $3.60 per share, which means that I am receiving a 13.4% ($3.6 / $26.90) dividend yield of my initial investment.  By the end of December 2021, I will have collected in dividends 38% of my investment.

An investor who purchased, in 2012, shares at a price of $8, will see that invesment generate, in 2021 a dividend yield of 45% ($3.60 / $8).  I wonder what my dividend yield will be five years from now.

The dividend is a nice gift but the earnings were shitt. Net income down, despite MUA increase. Margin compression as the cost of funding increased and housing market is slowing down. Payout ratio has risen to 74%. Second quarter of declining earnings. Price was not behaving well the past 2 weeks. Stock will take a hit tomorrow hope the dividend limits the downside.
