RE:RE:Subscriber Count Reaches 159,000, 26% qoq growth

RE:RE:Subscriber Count Reaches 159,000, 26% qoq growth I agree. I was reluctant to join at first, but the launch of the Clean 15 plan tipped the scales. I know they are working on more diets, but keep in mind that Goodfood offers the most meal plan options per week (~29/week) than any competitor in any country (7 for HelloFresh for this week). This is a true differentiator and competitive advantage. Why would anyone choose a service with less options when you can mix and match every week?... Furthermore, all the food cost savings from buying with greater scale are passed on to the consumer improving the quality of the dishes. The customer wins.

It will probably take some time before we see entire new categories, as they need a minimal scale to remain efficient in the production process. But if they could partner with a health/insurance program and acquire customers that way, it could be an interesting growth opportunity.

The breakfast is being tested with a few select customers. I believe it is a full breakfast smoothie that likely comes into a pouch and all you need to do is blend it in the morning. Easy prep at its best. But the cost will have to be reasonable for people to add it on. I personally cook/make myself a breakfast every day of the week and enjoy doing so, but I realize that a large percentage of the population skips breakfast altogether. Therefore I think this can be quite successful.

Take a look at slide 9 of their investor presentation:

The next category listed after breakfast is prepared meals, the largest category of all. This one makes total sense, because if you are already ordering meal kits, why not order 2 more prepared lunches for work, or for your kid in University so that he does not eat Kraft dinner every day? Furthermore, if you are busy mom, wouldn’t it be nice to order kids lunches once or twice a week to lessen the burden? While none of these are current products, they all seem like no brainers and we will likely hear about them in the next few quarters.

This Clean 15 meal plan selection is why I signed up....It costs a wee bit more then regular meal plans but is truly worth it if one may have certain diets/health concerns to follow etc...now if company can expand on the Clean 15 type meals a little further to target celiac, liver, diabetes etc and market to the dieticians and health care centres etc. this could become a whole new market in itself!!!! In one of the last news releases they announced the financing and mentioned breakfast??? I am not so sure on this concept...breakfast is breakfast but look forward to seeing what that type menu offers...A meal package selction where you get 2 meals per day would be kinda good for one who may use program....if all you had to do was shop online at their website and have all your meals delivered weekly, you would not need much at the grocery store and you could save huge by not buying on impulse....Once my Clean 15 meal selections that I chose for my son are completed I will shop for myself using regular meal plans....I have food credits for referring others who have joined already
