America is moving quickly and aggressively, with billions of dollars in hand, to lure foreign investors into the United States — in the name of friend-shoring, cutting emissions, industrial strategy and future competitiveness.
“There is no doubt there is a major gravitational pull to invest in the United States, and that’s obviously by design,” says Maryscott Greenwood, who heads up the Canadian American Business Council. “Canada will have to figure out where it’s going to have a competitive advantage and really lean into it.”
