... BHP has long said met coal has a multi-decade future because blast furnaces are likely to be the dominant steelmaking technology into the middle of this century ... Buying the stock in the market is not the same as participating in a placement.  Your money may have gone to Bill, or Joe and not Fortune.  Market purchases does however set the price of the stock, and is critical because if no one bought in the market, the price determination would be irrelevent.  Can you imagine if all shares were bought from the treasury in a financing, and then ...more
