Yes, great picture of the facilities.....not as enthusiastic about Tucker and the ex-con pardoned by Trump being subject of praise, but hey, that could just be me and a lot of other Canadians. Would also be nice if TC was better informed about Canada and how it ranks higher than the USA on a large number of metrics that make it a great country....but then again we know truth is not his strong ...more

Bar, I enjoy your posts, and typically spend a few moments reviewing your words.  I am a bit confused though. In my opinion, the people pictured in the photo are attempting to push back a marxist totalitarian movement centered in Ottowa as well as D.C. in the United States. These folks, while certainly not perfect, are our best chance at saving capatalism and freedom in  Alberta, as ...more

Two questions: who is the guy on the right beside Carlson?  Second: How can Canada become totalitarian if there are still free elections? Canada is likely going to change PMs next year.  Interested to see what Bar's response.

Question 1: Guy on the right:  Appears to be Conrad Black Former Canadian citizen Old school conservative newspaper baron. Born wealthy. Old School Neo-conservative. Hated by liberals. Lots of powerful friends at various times. Pardoned by Trump for creative accounting fraud and related obstruction convictions. Type of guy that is eager for the United States citizens to fight and die for ...more

Yup, Conrad Black...all you say, plus he has written some impressive biographies.....so smart ...plus he prides himself on his knowledge and use of big words..... But he is no longer as influential as he was...he was only given Canadian Citizenship again in 2023. He gave it up to become a British Peer....he had to due to Canadian law.....but to my knowledge he is not exercising any associated ...more

I had a different understanding of C18. I thought that the issue was that Google or Facebook can display links and people will read the headline but not click on the actual link where the business gains money through ads or subscriptions.  Particularly on Facebook you will see a link where people will read the headline and then argue with each other in the comments without reading the ...more

Straight from the horse's mouth. Note it discusses "economic benefit gained" by the tech companies where Bill C18 seeks to redress the bargaining power imbalance.... https://www.justice.gc.ca/eng/csj-sjc/pl/charter-charte/c18_1.html

Thanks Sage. I think this where I am confused: "The Act would regulate digital news intermediaries that make news content produced by news outlets available to persons in Canada. Search engines and social media services fall within the definition of digital news intermediary." Google doesn't reproduce what is written, it just provides a link staying the headline.  I may be ...more

The first step to fixing a problem is admitting the problem exists. Canada is a truly wonderful country, as is the United States. Obviously both countries have issues to resolve. I find it fascinating to hear others opinions on certain topics. We all see things a bit different.  Bill C-18 for example, I see an obvious mechanism designed for censorship, you see something less sinister.  ...more

Let's cool the jets, Nukester. Heated topics that divide the country east and west. The pendulum has already started to shift back to centre.   (yes, that's how we spell it) Elites in Ottawa are not popular these days, won't win the next federal election. {^youtubevideo|(width)425|(height)264|(rel)False|(url)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oQCf12UkVSo|(fs)True|(loop ...more

Agreed on the sentiment! A variety of opinions is a great thing to have. I admit that a few things you have said have challenged things I believe so I appreciate that.
