Why is it?

Not singling out Greenlane at all, not in the least, but why is it that on any board at all, when a stock isn't performing well, invariably there are posters who will blame it on "manipulation". ...It's not manipulation, it's just the market. People seem to feel better when they can name someone or "something" to blame. It's just "the market".

Agree blaming manipulation without proof is in itself wrong however this does not preclude the possibility that it’s taking place in some form…

And in XBCs case was it only the market ? :) ?
Comment by tamaracktop on Oct 27, 2022 7:36am
Nope. IT was the company, and if it's the company in this case, then you have a problem.

Xbc was utilizing a growth by acquisition strategy that back fired as they took on way to much debt and were of the view they would continue with wild revenue figures which is what they expressed to the market. They were wrong and fell on there face in that regard. It didnt help them that there legacy rng contracts were locked in for term causing them additional losses. Bad mgmt overall. Grn ...more

Right, everyone makes wrong calls once in a while. Rather than blaming themselves, or accepting that they should have yingged instead of yangged they blame others. When I make a mistake, I get out as soon as possible and hope that my wins are greater than my losses.

especially in this current market when the only metric that seems to matter is price to tangible book value.   IE. it is all going to zero, can the bank get its money back,, being facetious of course but it seems that no fundamental metrics apply these days.

Yeah you guys are right! I went in an out of xbc 3 times in 3 years. In general made positive returns but my last "in" didn't end well. I had big hopes for xbc but they inflated too fast! What I really didn't like is that management knew it was coming and kept selling the company up to august !  here with GRN Ive been in and out because of stop losses twice this year ...more

miscstuff, your word salad is interesting, but what do you have have affectively done is blame other people and their behaviours or moves, for being wrong, and you being right. It sounds like you have a " superior syndrome "

divhunter, I don't "blame other people and their behaviours or moves, for being wrong". I clearly stated that we all make wrong calls once in awhile. But what I have to wonder about are all the people who bought for .54 (today's SP) Oct 2000, watched it soar to over $2.50 in two months thinking they were brilliant for catching the right train and are still holding today. It is ...more

Tama- you are incorrect with your assumptions on human nature. It is not the market, but rather the whole macro North American economic landscape. The company has not responded well to adverse macro economic events, this is the responsibility of the board and the executive. It's not simply the market. I don't know where you get the stuff from. quote=tamaracktop]Not singling out ...more
