RE:Food for thought: Warren buffet on investing Amen to that
Lesson learnt is that being impatient, all the short term stuff has screwed one over
For example, I got greedy and impatient and invested in CRX. I did well with CRX originally and thought the same would continue, I got greedy and wanted fast gain so that could meet financial goals and freedom sooner. All that kept washing down when I finally came to my senses and took the 90% realized loss.
When things are well, everyone is like on drugs and high. Look at VRX and CRX, when they were kicking butt in terms of stock price the reality was, fundamentally these companies were horrible
All other investments I had before, even in oil despite the commodity pricing crash, has all recovered. Long term companies that were slow, but steady such as TRP, MCD, DIS, JNJ, MTY, ATD.B has all kicked done really well.
CRX - 400% in a year or less, but just as fast all gone. I know you can argue timing, but trust me hindsight is 20/20. When you drink the koolaid you can become blinded.
All the other long term slow stocks mentioned, in past five years have all been 100% in gain or more, and pay dividends.
I'm greatful Goodman isnt like the other damn pharma CEOs. Look at the greedy CEOs from VRX and CRX to name a few who pay themselves a ridiculous amount in salary and options. Those guys agenda was to make money for themselves only.
Goodman on the other hand with Paladin rewarded himself and shareholders, I assume he will do the same with GUD.
This time he is quoted to want to build a real pharma company the size of Merck and Pfizer combined for Canada and rest of the world market. He wants to make it win/win. Bring drugs to markets like Canada and the world where people need, and make money, he wants to build a long term company for his grandchildren and won't sell a single share till he sells it all. He is also a major stakeholder in GUD.
Don't know what more you can ask for and by the way please review GUD's past performance from inception in 2014 to now. It's been damn good; venture to tsx listing, over 100 million in first year (albeit one time), no debt, pile of cash, tons of wise investments into research and funds that so far have worked out 95% of the time
If you are impatient, go buy the stupid overrated, overvalued stocks from penny stocks to weed stocks to other garbage out there. You may win the short term but long term you are gonna get screwed.
So in summary to all impatient and short term, short sighted investors. If you are invested in GUD.
Shut up, be patient, be happy.
All is good (GUD)
