The 635-acre plot of land it is situated on is an attractive bit of property, minutes from the 401 with rail access and its own water treatment plant. Ford will likely sell the plant.
There are rumours that the site might be used to manufacture alternative energy technologies, such as wind turbines, or be converted to a biomass power plant or an industrial complex.
This is probably the sub-assembly contract that AM is now negotiating.
The offer of a $150 million subsidy will probably be given to Oakville instead.
