RE:Amended 2020 T5013?

RE:Amended 2020 T5013?Hi!

I noted last week that HOT.un released their 2021 filing on the CDS website. The 2021 listing includes 12 months of non-cash distributions with income being more than offset by carrying charges AND a 13th payment (record 31/3/20 payable 31/12/21) consisting of 100% Return of Capital. So that is good news for most ... the deferred distribution will be included on a 2021 T5013 (instead of an amended 2020 T5013) and there will be no need to reopen one's 2020 tax filing .... with the exception of anyone who sold their position in 2020 and already claimed a capital loss for HOT.un in 2020. Luckily for me, I held onto our HOT.un position until Jan. 2021 ... so the deferred RoC distribution will reduce ACB and the Capital Loss to be claimed on the 2021 tax filing with CRA. Cheers!
