Can you tell us where you got that piece of information?  All I see in their release is that they didn't pay a premium.

When I read this part "The consideration did not exceed the outstanding principal and interest balance."  It says to me that Silver Lake paid somewhere between a penny and 100% of principal + interest outstanding.

Let's face facts, not just the BNPP's First Lien debt, but also Appian's Convertible debt were both in default. I have never seen any distressed debt trade close to full value.

Silver Lake did not pay full value, they purchased Harte's debt at a discount - guaranteed.
