Because Husky is a public company and if something criminal transpired between Husky and the Regulator in respect of the iceberg incident, CBC would dig it out and inform the public. That daily production data is needed to verify that Husky complied with the 10-day suspension of operation because the public monthly operation won't reveal that much. And if they did not comply, was the Regulator aware and what did they do when they knew?
I don't think Husky can use the Atlantic Accord Act to hide information that CBC thinks might have criminal implication as it relates to breach of applicable laws and bribery amonng other things stated in their 2017 AIF. So let them try to gag CBC and see how far it would go when CBC joins the lawsuit for the requested information!
Hopefully, the above answers your "so why should they" moronic question!
