To give you an insight into the long-term implication of these MINOR events, why did pipeline spill occur? Was it because the company tried to cut corners and not properly monitor the pipelines because they are trying to save costs? What are the chances there won't be any repeat of the incident because they did not learn from the last one? And the iceberg incident occured because they did not want to shutdown production for a few days, evacuate staff until safety is restored.

I believe I posted that what we are experiencing in all these incidents is a case of penny wise, pounds foolish and it is shareholders that are bearing the brunt of the fallout. At the end, can investor confidence be restored or would the company gain the trust of the market again? Guess time would tell!

There has been many great companies in history that this lack of trust became their achilles heel. A case in point is Nortel, a great telecoms company back in the day (founded 1895, ceased operation 2013). I wonder if there is anything to say about their long-term operations, now that they are no longer in existence. For those that watched the decline of the company, it all happened in slow motion until one day, it broke the camel's back and it wasn't as if all the red flags weren't flashing back then!

your ineptness and short memory prove again you're the village idiot.

I had posted pics and explained before that the SK oil spill was due to underground shifting cause by over saturation from a very wet summer.  The river rose and water table rose with it. The pipeline is close to the river but original engineering, construction and right of way were all approved by SK gov't. It was deemed safe at that time. The pipeline breakage is an act of nature. Hence why husky is rebuilding it on higher ground, further away from the river plus much higher spec than required pipeline code.  Maybe many investors like that approach.  Funny you never ever talk about fact but always present FUDs like Shell, valeant pharmaceuticals, alibaba, penn west and now nortel. You sure like pulling krap out of your a$$ to show us.  Why don't you tell us about how twin butte screw YOU over?  we sure like to hear about that one too.

On the iceberg near miss. Husky did broke the letter of the law but no death or equipement damaged. It is like jay walking. The law is broken but it was executed without harm or accident. The responsible person was fired, new and better qualified vp was appointed, new protocol established and existing safety measure tighten up. Fine will be paid. You are just beating on a dead horse.

On superior refinery, husky bought a really old refinery with a really good safety record til the last event. No one die, can use the opportunity to replace some old units with new technology.Sure there is shut down delay and money to upgrade but these parameters would have been even higher if husky had to build a new refinery from scratch.
