Hse vs other Cdn majors

Husky has by far underperformed all cdn majors like CVE, CNQ, SU and IMO. Cenovus YTD has returned the most out of all the group. I haven't bought Hse in a very long time but have tonnes of CVE. I would say the same catalysts for Cenovus is the same for Hse and all the other majors, but what is really going on with Husky? Cash flow is growing, debt is much lower and Husky has more downstream business with retail. So why the continual underperformance? Only thing that pops to mind are the following: 1. No USA listing 2. Business is fairly flat as no real growth Curious to see what others think?

I think the main overhangs at this point are a return of Searose production and completion or repairs to the damaged Superior refinery. There's also an upgrade project at the Lima refinery this fall that will reduce output there. A full turnaround of HSE business is looking increasingly like a 20/21 story unfortunately, assuming of course that the global economy and oil prices hold out until ...more

@autofocus111: thank you for the reply and insightful info. As mentioned, I'm new to the board and not a current shareholder (bought and sold many times but it has been a while since I was a shareholder). So definitely sounds like there are some production issues that are impacting the share price. Have been thinking about trading Cenovus for Husky due to valuation but might hold off for a bit ...more
