RE: RE: VIX futures at 13.77 DF2830 just want to ask where the massive inflation was when the Fed started QE3 back in September? The S&P dropped from Sept to Dec, and it wasn't the QE that caused the surge in stock markets, it was the "avoiding of the 'fiscal cliff' situation".
I always look for faulty reasoning in a market when the same group names one catalyst to start a bull or bear run, and then touts a completely different catalyst for the continuation of a trend when both catalysts were present the entire time.
Plus, if inflation is the real worry, then the hedge is not the stock market, it's commodities. Nat gas/oil for our energy needs, agriculture for our living needs, and precious metals for our savings needs. I agree we're in a massively inflationary environment which can be good for stocks, but it's better for commodities of all kinds because they represent the basic necessities of a society.
