People laugh off technicals because they have no idea to use them and refuse to learn anything. Using technicals are not always perfect, but they do take out the guesswork.
If you look at the daily charts for UVXY(easier to use than HVU, but essentially the same) there is a triple bottom/oversold position.
RSI is in an oversold spot for the third time since March. Looks like a nice triple bottom and limited downside to UVXY/HVU for the next bit.
This triple bottom is for the RSI and not actual price.
Look at XIV (HVI.TO), it is the complete opposite. The daily RSI is in a triple top/overbought position. Again this triple bottom is for the RSI and not the actual price.
People laughed at me when I was calling HVU to be in single digits when the price was close to $20. Now it's around $5. I am in for an average cost of HVU at $5.17. I look for 20+% moves for HVU when I take a position. So I just need a price just over $6, I will be fine. People use the term bull/bear all the time. I am neither, just trade either way. People get too wrapped up in a one-sided thought.
