The market is trying to hard to push up last few days. VIX is not going down.. There is likely pause until JPMC and the other banks report later this week.   The VIX index was up yesterday and today (so far). I’d start watch to see if there and accumulation/distribution in VIX (SP futures puts vs calls) and VIX futures. It’s hard to tell so far this week

I'm looking at the VIX index, VIX futures and VIX short  erm futures index. Not positive. HVU uses this index because VIX futures rollover from month to month. You often gaps each month on the VIX futures because of this. This is only a theory on my part. It's hard find info on HVU.  I would expect UXVY to work in a similar way as they are both ETF’s. I may do some research on the finer points of UVXY.  They have to hold short term VIX futures. TVIX is an ETN and works a

I don’t think the VIX index can down much more. Because the VIX is implied volatility of the SP500 futures UP and DOWN.   If the VIX went too low, it would imply their is no volatility and no movement in the SP. There would be no point in buying SP futures options if the VIX was close to zero.   We are seeing very strange behavior in the markets. Maybe the start of a bubble or crash

Usually the VIX index is 2 points below the futures below 20. The index is 2 points above after 20. As the VIX goes up, the difference gets wider. You could see  VIX index at 33 and futures at 27

I agree.. I think 12.50 is support for VIX however we all know that these ETFs like UVXY and HVU will grind lower if S&P goes sideways next few days or weeks.. Oil and copper have good lift today so that brings positive sentiment to market.. I am still on sidelines to enter here but shorted few garbage gold stocks today.. see how it goes this week.. better to wait bank earnings by Friday.. CB

Bonds and the Yen are down big. it gets these out of overbought status without too much adverse affect to the VIX
