Stella well and effects on reservesSo I was looking over the information on IAE's web site regarding the Stella well:
https://ithacaenergy.com/Stella.asp
If you go to the bottom of the page and look at the graphic, you will see a 3d representation of what they think the formation is (based on seismic, I would assume). Note that the peak of the formation is around the 9050 level, and the furthest out well drilled through the formation intersects it at less than 9500. Now look where the new (listed as proposed) well sits. It intersects at just over 9900'. They claim they have hit a 22' thick section of the target sands here and are performing a (pre-planned) DST to get a better estimate of what lies there. They would already have other data from down hole (wire line logs, mud logs, etc) which should give them an idea if there's any hydrocarbon there. A good DST would seem to me to double(?) the areal extent of the Stella field. I don't know what the expected pay thickness out here is, but the fact that the sands aren't pinched out is good. A good DST would also be great.
I guess the next thing to look at is the pay thickness encountered on some of the other wells in the field
