RE: O/T ... Mart Resources while we are at itI have holdings in both MMT and AEN, but much more of my investment money is in the sure thing - IAE. MMT is a great little company with very little risk in terms of the drilling and technical side, but huge political risks being in Nigeria. Make sure you understand the tax system (it's not really that much different in the end product from the N. Sea these days). Pipelines are regularly bombed or drilled into and siphoned from in the Niger Delta. MMT isn't in the core area of the delta where unrest is more common. They have talked about building a second pipeline to get their oil out (through the nearby Shell facility), but I haven't heard any progress on that front. In the meantime, they are pretty much at the mercy of AGIP (despite there being rumors of a deal for the last two months).
AEN has good holdings, but management appears to be pretty poor at leveraging them into producing assets. IAE with poor execution. There's a reason I have a much larger holding in IAE, but AEN's exploration successes keep me holding a small position.
