RE:Relevant demand signal?Interesting point. I suggest that to make such a move work, Newcrest Red Chris Mining Limited (NRCML - wholly owned by NCM)) would first have to acquire III's 30% interest in Red Chris, then a carmaker could buy a stake in NRCML, which could then go public (IPO) later. A carmaker should be much more comfortable owning a stake in BC, Canada, than in a politically/economically risky jurisdiction such as the Argentine.
As an alternative to NCM buying III's 30% Red Chris interest, NCM could acquire III and then transfer III's 30% Red Chris interest to NRCML I suspect that this option would be more attractive to ME and to III's management.
Regarding timing of such a deal, I suggest that III would realise best value after an Eagle Ridge Mineral Resource has been established and the Red Chris feasibility study has been completed.
