Decision Making

At the same time as I accept the tailings pong disaster as being supremely bad luck, I simply can't excuse MGT/ Brian K's leadership for letting us all down. I've lost track of the number of operational deliverables where they've failed to deliver but their management of the Capital Mkts side of the business has been nothing short of atrocious. Clearly ME is distracted by his outsized success in the energy space and simply not on top of this particular holding,  failing to see that amidst a tide that has lifted every copper boat our Captain has kept us in the dry dock.  Classic Canadian, low liquidity value trap where all the value creation has been entrusted - in this case to NCM - to others while mgt gets to mail it in....   shame.....

I am not qualified to comment on day-to-day operational snafu's but what I do know is that the "marketing" of the company is pitiful. The website is way out-of-date - it seems that the last serious update was in January 2021. News releases are more like death notices that disclose the bare minimum, if that e.g. the restart of mining and milling at Mt Polley justified a comprehensive ...more

Nor am I especially qualified, however, other than back when the Province extended power to RC, I am stuck finding any mgt successes worth noting. I've always bet the horse having considered the jockey to be mediocre.  Retired on the job with all sorts of replacement candidates available.  You may be right on ME exiting with a premium with BK limping off to pasture.  Painful for ...more
