A few macro items to add to the list: omecron, meme stock spillover, inflation, war, recession.
CEO's of startups will always present a rosey view, sometimes to the point of fraud. Most of the time imo the view is 'best case'.
My issue with management is not lieing, it's do they have the right skill set to take the next step.
FWIW, I'm certainly not selling my remaining shares at these levels even though my expectations for Q4 are not great. If the macro view is not too bad, then $5 by year end is not out of the question imo. Of course the macro view is very uncertain and if things go nb significantly south ATY will be yhe last of my worries.
P.s. Did I mention they are sitting on a nice bag of money? Lol
Hi Campst. I do believe macro concerns and a weak advertising market pummeled this stock to the ground. It could rise for a nice annual gain when these concerns dissipate. I do not believe 2023 is going to be a good year for advertising stocks. Im 99% certain about this. A recession is going to arrive soon. Let's just hope it's a mild one.
When all of the smoke clears, the best bet for this company is to be taken out by a larger player. Let's be very honest here. Management has lost all credibility.
Oh and btw. In the latest video with Laura Martin, Tal Hayek said he wants to at least maintain managed service revenue when just not long ago he said he would discontinue by mid 2023. Im not even making this story up. He keeps going back and forth to lure new investors by saying things they want to hear.
Overall I lost more money than I made and it's pretty embarrassing to admit this even though I sold a fraction of my position for a 30 times gain! Yes, I went from buying a position over $1 a share to selling a portion at under $33. The mistake I made was not being disciplined on its way down from $33 back to $2. This is where I did poorly.
