I haven't held Inovalis for 3 years now.  I have been watching this stock but the payout ratio is way too high.  The special dividend they paid a few months back was a red flag since it would have been better spent growing the company.  And the share price has never recovered from this special dividend. The big concern now is a possible rescession because of rising inflation ...more

May 12th was a fantastic buying opportunity. Talk about a sweet gift. It blows my mind people dumped this stock just because of a temporary large AFFO payout ratio. Once the new acqutions start contributing to the AFFO, the ratio will be driven down to quickly. I think people are starting to realize this (which was always evident) hence the good gains made in last week. It's been a while since ...more

I agree, sure it frustrates people between the cut and price drop but the reality is the company is in better shape now with the cut than it was without, the sp will come back as they always do with good companies and that makes this a buy with still a decent yeild. These type of things are my bread and butter, cheers!

This has really hurt my investing strategy. I had a LOC taken out and I was making my payments with the dividends from INO.UN. I'm down bigtime. Now that they are restructuring, I have a good idea that given enough time there will be insiders buying up this cheap REIT plus stock buybacks will both reinflate the price to a more normal level. current divident yield is 8%. Anyone who gets in at ...more

Watch out, need a confirmation double bottom around 4.5-5 CAD

Yes please! I'll add.

Absolutely! Never underestimate how low a stock can go. $5.50 may have looked a bargain but its already 10 per cent down since then.  Management's credibility has taken a real beating here. If it does slip below $5 then there is a danger of mid-$4s. i have my finger on the buy trigger but quite happy to keep it there a while. If it suddenly rebounds, then so be it.    & ...more

Absolutely, another great thing is the fact that they are acknowledging the fact that there would be a short term drop and suspended the drip, I know it might suck for those getting that but the mere fact that that do not want to give shares out at this price is a very good tell. Cheers!

Well cutting in half is one way to reduce payout ratio. They're getting hosed in the currency exchange

Comment by BlueJay2020 on Aug 16, 2022 11:38am
No, but this is what happens. We have seen it many times before - as with Corus. An unsustainable dividend being the primary attraction for investors - who head for the exits as soon as it is cut.  it becomes a show-me story and it can take a long while to restore confidence. I wouldn't be surprised to see this dip into the high 4s, at which point I might start to get interested - but I ...more
