Today was the first time in 15 days that IPL closed over $18.00. Looks like the market is not taking the $16.50 Brookfield offer very seriously. Brookfield has had their opportunity to downplay IPL valuation and it appears their opening shot was a dud.
Will be interesting to see the IPL valuation advice / response.

Of course Brookfield will downplay IPLs valuation as they are trying to buy it as cheap as possible.
While they say one thing to IPL shareholders their real strategy as described by them is the following.
" Brookfield Infrastructure Partners LP is a Bermuda based exempted Limited Partnership that owns and operates quality. long lifed assets that generate stable cashflows, by virtue of barriers to entry or other characteristics tend to appreciate in value over time. It focuses on acquiring infrastructure assets that have low maintenance costs and high barriers to entry."
Does anyone know a company that would fit that description.?
