Ivanhoe Mines Ltd. is a Canada-based mining, development, and exploration company. It is focused on the mining, development and exploration of minerals and precious metals from its property interests located primarily in Africa. Its projects include Kamoa-Kakula Complex, Western Foreland, Kipushi and Platreef. The Kamoa-Kakula Complex project is a stratiform copper deposit with adjacent prospective exploration areas within the Central African Copperbelt, approximately 25 kilometers (kms) west of the town of Kolwezi and approximately 270 kms west of the provincial capital of Lubumbashi. The 17 licenses in the Western Foreland cover a combined area of 2,407 square kilometers to the north, south and west of the Kamoa-Kakula Copper Complex. The Kipushi Project lies adjacent to the town of Kipushi and 30 kms southwest of the provincial capital of Lubumbashi. Its Platreef project is situated approximately eight km from Mokopane and 280 km northeast of Johannesburg, South Africa.

RE:RE:More readable version...I think that is why DRC are coming to the realization that they have given away a lot of their natural resources away for next to nothing - and they want to renegotiate. I don't think it's unreasonable. It's a solvable problem. DRC wants to attract investment but walk a fine line between pulling another First Quantum and being tough negotiators (especially in an election season). It's also why I think Friedland and co will concede - because they knew the 5% free interest was next to nothing when they acquired the rights and perhaps would have been willing to give away 15% for free anyway (which is why I think they offered it back in the day before the Kamoa discovery). Friedland will not want this to drag on for long. He knows he's taking way more risk if he waits till after the elections where uncertainty goes through the roof.... Again - all in the course of negotiation - this matter will be resolved in due time.
