RE:RE:Congo, Chile, Peru, Indonesia, Zambia, Mon...nowhere to hideNo doubt our western "democratic" systems have deteriorated considerably over the past years.It is on longer " by the people,for the people ".you an substitute by and for the 1% for a more accurate representation.The huge disproportionate amount of wealth vested in such a small greedy percentage of the population is the cause of our predicament.TheTrump era has helped to creat even more caohos and destruction of many of our democratic principals and institutions.However,the alternative to democracy is excemplified by the governments like the DRC.Like any empire or republic our democratic system will crumble further and be replaced but who knows what.Drastic changes are desperately needed but the change will not happen fast as the controlling interests(the 1%) will fight and probably stop any meaningful improvements.
For now,those of us who live in western societies can consider ourselves fortunate compared to the rest of the world.
