Muffybell1 wrote: Zack, that is totally INCORRECT. After Jan 8/23, CITIC can aquire as many shares on the open market as they want. They certainly DON'T need anyones permission including RF's . The standstill for RF has TWO PARTS. One is with CITIC and the other is with ZIJIN MINING which expires some years later, so RF even though his standstill expires with one company, is still under another with ZIJIN, so the only one who really can't buy shares on the open markets is RF, UNLESS of course he gets a mutual consent from ZIJIN. CITIC can do what they want. That's what STAND STILL MEANS.

Settle down Muffybell... in my post, I specifically stated... "it was my interpretation and that I stand to be corrected." Unlike you, I don't declare to be a know-it-all and refer to other posters as "dorks", "idiots", etc., when they pose a question.

My post was based on the following excerpt taken from a section of the March 8, 2020, news release on the Ivanhoe Mines website.

"CITIC Metal Africa and Zijin Mining are each subject to long-term standstill agreements with Ivanhoe Mines that limit the maximum number of shares each may acquire, which in the case of CITIC Metal Africa is 29.9% until January 8, 2023, and in the case of Zijin currently is 13.88% until December 7, 2026, beyond which each can only acquire shares on a consensual, negotiated basis with Ivanhoe Mines until the standstills expire... ".

The high-lighted section is what led me to my interpretation... obviously my interpretation was wrong... I can live with that, I've been wrong before... it hasn't killed me, lol.

I do have a question for you before I go... "If, in fact, you knew the answer to the question posed earlier, why then didn't you just give the answer, instead of answering in your typical demeaning and condescending manner?" That might have given you some credibility in the eyes of other posters.

Finally, following the expiration of the standstills, there is no limit on CITIC or Zijin’s share purchases outside of any that are dictated by the TSX.
