RE:RE:RE:We will change the handle of that bog to FOGFIT LOLIt's not lost on me!  I have no criticism of Ivanhoe's operations as far as efficiency and low cost.  But that isn't the whole story.  It doesn’t matter how competent management is if local conditions prevent shipping concentrate to the market.

The situation in Zambia is serious and as the president of that country recently admitted that “Other countries in southern Africa are also in a dire situation”.  It’s regional folks!   And here’s the kicker, (climate change deniers can skip this) predictions presently are for a cycle into La Nina conditions sometime later this year.  Which reduces the chance of rainfall relieving the current drought.

How will El Nio affect South Africa in 2024?
Strong El Nio will drive high needs across Southern Africa ...

Likelihood of below-average rainfall (shown in orange) in Southern Africa in December 2023-February 2024. The ongoing strong El Nio event, which is forecast to reach peak intensity in late 2023 and dissipate by mid-2024, is expected to drive below-average rainfall across much of Southern Africa (Figure 1).  Nov 8, 2023

Strong El Nio will drive high needs across Southern Africa ...

And so it has.
