RE:RE:FACT - “The average temperature in Southern Africa has risen

RE:RE:FACT - “The average temperature in Southern Africa has risen“Another "fact" is these panels can cherry pick data time lines to give you any result you want.”

Is your “fact” that an “international coalition of scientists that focuses on rapid assessment of extreme weather events” COULD cherry pick data if they wished or that they have, and continue to do so?  Only one of those is a fact, the other is simply a conspiracy theory so beloved by ignorant  right-wingers.  If you maintain that these scientists would willingly and intentionally publish what they know is factually false, what would their motive be for ruining their professional reputations?  That is total nonsense.

Your denigration of Dr. David Suzuki warning of the next ice age “and to think he's called a "Dr.".. sure wouldn't want him assessing my health” is quite telling.  But then his training was in Zoology so he just might be qualified after all LOL.  However, although you failed to document his statement so as to provide context which any fair minded, reasonable person would, you use a memory of what you recall from 50 freakin’ years ago, as proof of scientific understanding today?  Wow!

“I've mentioned earlier global and solar cycles ARE important in data collection..”

And I asked what in the world (or solar system) you were talking about.  The Sun’s magnetic reversal cycle, or the 11-year cycle of solar activity?  And just how do you suppose that anyone can “redirect” the Sun’s activities?  When you get into Earth’s “cycles” it becomes even more complex but besides it being warmer in the summer, that in itself generally does not indicate a contributory effect upon global warming.  If you think this is incorrect, then state some authority or document your “proof”.  Your layman opinion is quite worthless, as you know everyone has one, among other things.

“It's well known that the fires that happened in California a couple years ago set back California's "carbon fight" by 10-12 years..”

If it is really so “well known” perhaps you could supply a link to that information?  But I want to tell ya’ I’ve lived in the Sierra’s or in its shadow all my life and with a degree in Biology from a western university think I have a better understanding of California’s forest than you.

The facts are that unpresendented drought has stressed California boral forests reducing their ability to produce sap as a protection from bark beetles that girdle mature trees leaving them standing as dry matchsticks ready to roar into an uncontrollable crown fires.  This infestation and damage is spreading northward and boral forests around the world are threatened.  BTW – Mining operations in western Canada need to be aware of the risk of megafire and stranded assets.

Just curious what in the Hell do you think governments are supposed to do about the lack of rain?  -

“But the gov'ts don't want to address that, they just want to point fingers at the O&G sector as the boogyman.”

Oh, so now we are getting down to it aren’t’ we?  LOL  Oh my, it’s all about money and greed with you.  Poor picked on O&G, if there weren’t no climate effects from greenhouse gases, why you could burn and sell very last drop of oil you own.

This assault you launched against me and climate change really has nothing to do with copper, mining or Ivanhoe.  It’s all based upon your prejudice for fossil fuels and nothing more.
