In truth, I wouldn't invest in Colombia either.

The effect of heat upon the human body is basically understood, at least with heat related stress and heat exhaustion, and what studies have generally found is that the body requires a cool period at night to recover.  While the equator will warm as will the rest of the world, temperatures will fail to fall at night and thus portions may become uninhabitable for unprotected human beings.

Global warming is causing global effects that vary widely dependent upon topography, elevation, and latitude, and we are unfortunately learning “on the job”.  We were trying to understand is the ultimate and eventual cost of climate change.

A case in study:  Two years ago, a third of Pakistan flooded, then, 21 March 2023 – “Six months after catastrophic floods struck Pakistan, more than 10 million people, including children, living in flood-affected areas remain deprived of safe drinking water, leaving families with no alternative but to drink and use potentially disease-ridden water.”

And today- “— Authorities in Pakistan and Afghanistan said Tuesday that intense unseasonal rainfall, lightning and floods across both neighboring countries had killed at least 100 people over the past several days.  A spokesman for the Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority said floods had caused human and material losses in 13 of the country’s 34 provinces.”

They’re losing ground, not recovering.  Poor nations lack the resources to even restore services let alone mitigate future effects, and we know that warming will continue, that changes in the climate will impact water supplies worldwide, major metropolitan centers will run out of water, importing bare requirements at great cost.

It going to be different folks, how different only time will tell, but should I be asked when all this will happen, I used to say “Sooner than you think.”

It might be helpful to read about the PRESENT heat wave in Western Africa.  Why wouldn't this be a preview of conditions around the global in a very short time?   BAMAKO, Mali (AP) — Street vendors in Mali’s capital of Bamako peddle water sachets, ubiquitous for this part of West Africa during the hottest months. This year, an unprecedented heat wave has led to a surge in deaths ...more

You misunderstand my motives on this board are in part to assist my research into how retail investors, and shareholders of high-risk assets, react to negative climate information.  How often it is confused with a political agenda or how often simply rejected in a refusal to even accept the possibility.  The day isn’t far off when these damaging events come home, and it should be ...more

Mate, You can stick your motive in your hole. No one cares about your motive. A poster who doesn't own any shares in this company , but have the time to bash the company, has a name : Loser!

" I wish the admin's of the site kicked bogfit(loser) out of this forum ..."   Of course you do.  Cancel culture at its finest!  You wish I was silenced not because I violate any MB rules, just because you don’t agree with me, or because my views cause you concern.  Well, they should. Some of you guys just don’t get it.  You don’t have to sell Ivanhoe ...more

"You can stick your motive in your hole. No one cares about your motive."   I don't care about you either, certainly not about your ignorance and foolish denial of reality.  I know I have been a little rough with you Ivanhoers but that was only in response to the constant abuse and childish name-calling received for trying to intelligently discuss a major issue in mining ...more
