Year End talking points Its very encouaging KL now expects 3 new promising expansion areas Amalgamated Break at Macassa, Robbin's Hill at Fosterville and now a probable Northern Territory production startup .
2020 events a new shaft opening at Macassa, integration of Detour Lake and with three stocks investments in KL's junior portfolio Novo, Osisko, and Wallbridge all doing well. Stars seem to be aligning well.
Earlier in the year I made some what may have seemed to some were outrageous (my scenario predictions) for 2019, 2020, and 2021.
One person joked his scenario was to win the lottery.
This is not to say I told you so because clearly the main year 2019 prediction I had a KL share price in the range of $75-$80 CAD didn't happen. The share peak so far in 2019 was a closing at $67.87.
We took a big share price hit with POG pulling back and after the Detour takeover announcement. It seems to be recovering so far.
To recap here was the previous post with comments on results:
-----------------------
My scenario
2019 Gold price goes to $1400 Oz.
This was blown through the price has been in the $1500 as is now around $1480 at the time of the prediction (Feb. 26 2019) the price was $1327.40
KL discovers new rescources at Fosterville
not only at Fosterville at Robbi's Hill also extending the size of the Swan Zone and Lower Phoenix but also Amalgamated Break at Macassa and Northern Territories ore was found
market is slow to respond to this KL share price increases to $75-$80
Oh well a little light here but lots of promising catalysts for next year
2020 Gold price increases to $1500 Oz.
I still think that will be achieved
Market sees that KL is awash in cash but Australia raises mining taxes
New Victoria State taxes go into effect Jan. 2020
Kl shares go up but only to $95-$100
2021 Gold price surges to $2500/Oz. As Global recession takes hold
Kl price approaches $300 / share
KLFLING is forced to reconsider his RRSP withdrawal schedule
because he is nearing OAS Clawback limits
Well we'll see about the last predictions but I like the chances that the gold price will exceed $1500 in 2020 we may see a pullback if the general market soars but I think it would only be temporary and with every $100 increase the Detour purchase looks better and better especially if they can reduce costs there. Increased production, finding better grades and synergies with KL's Ontario operations are all possibilities.
