Medipharm Labs To Raise $20 Million Via Bought Deal Financin

Medipharm Labs this evening announced that it will be conducting a bought deal financing. The financing will see the company raise $20.0 million in a deal lead by Cantor Fitzgerald.

Fire the CFO.   1. Bought deal means no 4 month hold period so people can short the stock and cover with the warrants now.  2. Canter Fitzgerald gets the job of lead underwriter and sole book runner. Why not any of the 6 firms that offer analyst coverage? 3. Many firms are able to do equity issues without warrants. Why not these bozos?   No warrants issued  ...more

If they used the ATM they would be selling shares into the market without warrants attached. Idiots for not using it. The Company may also use the Base Shelf Prospectus in connection with an "at-the-market distribution" in accordance with applicable securities laws, which would permit Securities to be sold on behalf of the Company through the Toronto Stock Exchange (or other existing ...more

Stupid timing.    File the Q4 results first to show rebound in sales before doing a financing.

I'm doubting a rebound in sales.  I think the news was worded very carefully.  It said it "shipped" a record amount, doesn't mean revenue will be on Q4 fins.  With a 5-8 million write down this could get REAL ugly.
