National or desjardins?  Someone will lowball this.

you are probably right that someone like National or Desjardins will low ball on the price and the BOD will of course reject it and the price will go back to $33.50 or so too much risk on this trade.....next

You are right, I do not like this Bank. It is the worst run Bank in Canada and has been for 20 years. It makes Credit Unions look competent. CWB is head and shoulders better run than LB. I see no point in buying a Bank with a longterm track record of abysmal performance, hoping for a turnaround. You are claming there were no bids as an operating entity   Nowhere did I see LB say that, though I'm going off of memory.  It was perhaps said speculatively by others and thereafter taken as fact and thereafter taken as fact stated by LB itself?  I seem to recall LB saying something along the lines of no +/- "acceptable" +/- bids, which is a world of difference ...more

Your memory is good.  It was a lowball bid that triggered the whole exercise.  All good.  No MMSE required!  Have a great weekend.

LB received an unsolicited lowball bid - this is what triggered the review.  Just a fact - nothing more. Don't understand why you get so angry - its only a stock, not a high school crush
