Time to Give

While I give to various charities throughout the year, this time of year for me is particularly special and important.  Each year around this time, we donate money to our local homeless shelter enough money for them to buy several turkeys so that the homeless can have a turkey dinner at Christmas.

I am not a religious person but that doesn't matter in this regard.  I recognize that it is a significant time of the year no matter whether you are are Chistian, Jew, Islamic, Buddist, Hindu or another religion or agnostic or an athiest.

I challenge all of you here to share your prosperity with others who, for various reasons, are less fortunate than you.

I agree Experienced! I'm a regular monthly donor to several charities but at Christmas like to support the Salvation Army kettle campaign by dropping in $5 every time I see one.To live in poverty for any reason must be extremely hard, especially for children.
