I've been following your post for years and only recently created a profile. 

Thank you for your NAV updates. 

Besides DFN, BK, FTN, LBS and LCS; what other split shares do you own.

I do not own DFN or LBS at this time, but i do update the split funds that i do not own as well as the ones i do. Currently LFE is the biggest holding for me, FTN, FFN, DGS  and LCS are smaller holdings. I recently sold off TRP.pr.h for a capital gain, and collected a big dividend today.  I am leaning towards going to more preferreds again here very soon.

Thanks. Don't quite understand why you hold a large position in LFE.  The divis are sporatic at best.  Must be lots of captial gains if the volume and volitity can support it.  Just curious and looking to expand my horizons a little. Ive been focused on the BK, LBS FTN and a small DFN.  Currently diversifying with some BANK.TO as diversification for BK.  I also like ...more

My average LFE  buy in is now@ about $4.45 and I am more bullish on the lifecos than banks or funds like DFN ..The fundamentals for the lifecos were very poor with the near 0 interest rates for so long, but that changed very quickly with the record speed interest rate hikes. Now the premiums they collect are making big money when invested in high yielding preferreds and bonds... So LFE has ...more
