RE:RE:RE:Congratulation Alberta on election!!!!!.
As LEG is based in Calgary, the NDP corportate tax hike from 10% to 12% will directly affect them. For those of you who are retarded (not at all directed at you largeinvestor) that is a 20% increase in taxes. Also their stance on pipelines (market access) will affect them. If the ALBERTA GOVERNMENT doesnt advocate these pipelines...WHO WILL?? New royalty regime will have a minor impact on LEG bottom line. However pipeline issues, and increased royalties will affect the entire industry, and foreign investment in the entire industry, therefore you will see increased differential in Canadian energy company valuation VS American counterparts. Those of you who are not retarded will remember we tried increasing royalties from 2007 - 2010, it didnt work and was eliminated. Promoting new refineries plays right into the ignorance of the vast majority of the public who do not understand the downstream industry. It sounds great but the fact is Alberta refineries are not practical. #1 refineries are built at population centers, or at least somewhere with access (pipelines) to population centers...hows that for policy contradicting. #2 everywhere else in the world can refine for cheaper than us, therefore (with the exception of some petrochemical products), there is no demand for our refined products. The demand is for our raw crude. Take a look at the new North West Refinery in Fort Sask. This will be the most expensive refinery in the world on a price per barrel of capacity basis. What else lets see...increased union support is detrimental, you can use Ontario as a case study of how unions and high corporate tax can destroy an industry (auto manufacturing). Insert comment from some retard here - UNLIKE MANUFACTURING YOU CANT MOVE OIL PRODUCTION WHERE THERE IS NO OIL - of course not dumbass, but the majors who operate in the oilsands have international portfolios and can direct cash accoringly, which will depress economy until Mrs.Notley says "Oh that didnt work...lets take it back". So to all the social media nerds, treehuggers, and generally ignorant Albertans who voted NDP, I hope you know what you bargained for. OHHHHH RIGHT but they are going to diversify the economy...sorry I forgot we are the next silicone valley.
