Not saying I would invest in SU.Just noting that it is a bad comparison to make.And yes, refineries are big money-makers: especially when oil prices (an input) drop one reason why SU has done much better than other O&G companiesAnd yes, their balance sheet is about the best youll find in the oil patch with lots of cash and a good current ratio..Anyway, I did a quick check of competitors to LIQ in the Alberta market: Real Canadian Liquor Stores (Loblaws), Costco, and Solo are among the competitors that appear to be able to really compete on price not saying LIQ stores cant compete, just recognizing that fancy stores may not appeal to cost-conscious shoppers if they can get the same products at competitors for less.
