Is this the Dud of the year?

Maybe not..after all there were bigger flops to be sure. Akumin, Saputo, any of the junior golds, but in terms of disappointment it has to rate right up there.  After all...whats gone wrong...nothing...we got good earnings, divvy increase , higher rates on the horizon, some resolution of their scruffier exposures.... so how are we rewarded...pffft look at the share price.
Is the asian exposure somehow that bad? More cockroaches in the States? Higher rates some how bad for insurance companies?
I dunno...real dud tho...still i am hanging on...and to all the suckers out there like me...

We are going to take an earnings hit due to flight cancelations from Omicron. Not a big deal but investors tend to overweigh the newest ventures. Also the market is not confident that rates are going to be able to rise next year. I still think the stock is undervalued but there are risks for sure. I have a big position in MFC.

This stock has very little risk when it is priced at 6-7 times P/E. Interest rates going up will go right to the bottom line and with the amount of excess capital that they have, the number will be significant.  Even if rates do not go up, you are receiving 5% for being patient and at a minimum 3% increase in stock price. Not quite the high flying names of SHopify or Nvidia but a solid return
