Mr. Blake Colvin of East West reports
DRILLING UNDERWAY AT BOTH HAMLIN AND DEATY PROPERTIES, SHEBANDOWAN CAMP
East West Resource Corp. and Maple Minerals, a division of Mega Uranium Ltd., have confirmed that two drills are operating on respectively the Hamlin and Deaty properties, Shebandowan camp, west of Thunder Bay, Ont.
The Hamlin program consists of up to 10 holes, which will be drilled to test breccia-hosted copper-silver-gold-molybdenum zones that have been outlined by ground induced polarization and magnetic surveys (see news in Stockwatch dated Oct. 18, Nov. 16, 23 and Dec. 6, 2005). Two volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) targets will also be tested as part of this phase of drilling.
Diamond drilling on the Deaty property will test strong IP chargeability anomalies associated with gold occurrences in breccia. This zone is seven kilometres northeast of the first copper-gold-breccia-hosted zone in Hamlin. A minimum of 14 holes will be drilled in Deaty to test 12 different IP magnetic anomalies, several of which have known copper-molybdenum (chalopyrite-molybdenite) occurrences associated with pinkish-red-coloured alteration and magnetite discovered while preparing the drill sites. Completion of this phase of diamond drilling is expected to take six weeks, with core being logged and split continuously.
This Deaty drill campaign is the group's first opportunity to test a number of high-priority geophysical targets associated with newly exposed mineralization. These have been found by ground teams over the last eight months and like Hamlin include recent showings uncovered as part of the December drill site preparation work. A third drill has been arranged for the Shebandowan program, which is expected to arrive later in January.
Assays will be announced as they become available.
The project set out above is being supervised by R. Middleton, PEng, who is the qualified person and the person responsible for quality control of the assaying and reporting. More details are available on all of East West's properties at its website.
