RE: How ComeO.K. Energy Al,
Here's the real deal if you are an American using T.D. Ameritrade.
They will except your order on line for $9.99 per trade on Canadian Stocks using the 5 digit OTC symbol ....MGAFF.
The catch is they do not place your order on the OTC market in the States. Your order is automatically re-routed to the proper Canadian exchange in this case it is the TSX. The same thing happens again when you decide to sell.
SO.....it does'nt matter what the OTC closing price shows, as it is not where your order is being placed.
If you place your order over the phone with an Ameritrade broker and ask that it be put on the OTC market instead, then you should look for that closing price to see how you are doing at the end of each trading session. Just remember there is not as much liquidity there.
You can call Ameritrade at any time of the trading day for a Free Live Quote of any Canadian stock on the TSX or Vancouver exchange in U.S. dollars using the 5 digit OTC symbol.
You can also Click Commodities and then click Currencies on the Stockhouse home page to get the current Canadian $ quote.
Then go to the stock your interested in and get a Canadian quote, and multiply that amount times the currency figure for an accurate U.S. Dollar quote equivelant of the Canadian exchange stocks.
Good Luck.......UNM
