A couple of your points confuse me:

Unless I misunderstand you, if the major shareholders benefit, we the smaller investors will also, especially where many of us have an average cost/share in the $1 range
"The other risk is in the form of opportunity cost where one's capital sits idle" A sensible mining oriented investor should have a well balanced portfolio, that includes a broad specrum of commodity based stocks. To be in only one stock, or one play is a fool's game, right?
