RE: RE: De Beers blockade persists

RE: RE: De Beers blockade persists

i believe we are all allowed opinions, but have to wade in on this controversial topic;

firstly: the vector diamond mine story is a red herring.

we do not own vector diamond mine.  it is wholly owned by debeers.  also this is all happening in ontario and our mine is in the territories.

secondly: slamming natives on this board is not going to help our cause.  if anything it can harm it.

thirdly, canada is built on legislation and treaties: the terms of union between canada and newfoundland is just one example. the bna act is another.  the idle no more folks are just protesting about enforcing their treaty rights.  this is not radical.

fourthly, readers might find this hard to swallow BUT it seems to me canada claims to be an inclusive society for all immigrants, but not so much so for native born canadians.

fifthly, the idle no more campaign has legitimate grievences.  the problems lie with the indian act and the number treaties.  whatever their greivences in northern ontario are have no effect on our diamond project in the territories

In conclusion i must state  i am surprised what some posters  (  who should know better) are posting.

I bet they would not dare slam on this billboard groups like somalis,  italians, dukabours,scots,  hutterites,  japanese, ukranians etc etc,  or (god forbid) quebec.

anyhow lets keep this all civil and nice, no need to be nasty.

everyone have a great weekend.
