Take-over

Take-overAny bid for MPVD - De Beers, Rio Tinto, Lucara, etc. - will be contingent upon 66 2/3 voting in favor of the offer. DD is trying to get to 33 1/2 shareholding to block such a vote. We all know he's limited to buying no more than 5% in the open market in any 12 month period. That leaves private off-market purchases. And he's been doing those. Our only saving grace is that the SEC and OSC will very closely examine any and all trading ahead of any offer, which may have been designed to circumvent security regulations. Based on what we've seen over the past few weeks, I've sent letters to the OSC and SEC requesting that they monitor ALL trading in MPVD shares. Needless to say, DD will be on a particularly slippery slope buying shares if his employee Mr Commerford was to share anything with him that no outsider should know.
